IMPRESSIVE THOMAS SHERATON REVOLVING LIBRARY TABLE £80,000

An impressive Regency mahogany revolving library table, after a design by Thomas Sheraton and possibly manufactured by Gillows of Lancaster.

The circular top is inset with a gilt-tooled black leather writing surface above a frieze of four drawers and four dummy drawers, all fitted with gilt bronze lion mask handles.

The square section pedestal is fitted with a cupboard and cornered by projecting pilasters, carved with bellflower pendants, each issuing a scrolling support, raised on carved crocodile feet.

The underside bearing label is detailed 'Waring & Gillow Ltd, 180 Oxford Street, Removal and Warehousing Dept'.
