GEORGE III MAHOGANY SERPENTINE COMMODE, ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS, CIRCA 1770.

Impressive fiddled mahogany serpentine commode. The serpentine top is cross-banded overall  with rectangular ears and canted angles. The canted angle uprights are inlaid with boxwood strung lines which frame a flame mahogany panel. Three graduating drawers, the top of which is fitted with a writing slide and open storage compartments. The apron is framed with a double line of mahogany moulding above fluted Marlborough feet.
